Over the past several years, volunteerism among parents has steadily decreased placing the Greenup County Youth Soccer Association in a very precarious situation...we have no help!
This league cannot continue to operate without the gracious support of parents and grandparents like you!
Many times we are asked, “Well, isn’t this what my registration fee pays for?” And, to answer that question honestly, No! As with every business and citizen across the country, we have seen steadily rising operation costs. The registration fees collected barely cover cost for replacement of aging equipment and liability insurance rates, which we are legally obligated to maintain.
Another question, which frequently asked, is “What does the concession stand support?” Again, to answer honestly, funds collected from sales in the concession pay the referees, which prevent our league from “passing the hat” or assessing admittance fees to our facility.
It is important to note at this time, that the GCYSA is ran completely by the gratitude and dedication of those who have a desire to increase the knowledge base of the game of soccer and provide a positive level of interaction with youth in our area.
We have tried to prevent passing the rising operation costs onto parents by offering consistent registration fees and multi-child discounts. However, without your continued support, we are being faced with the possibility of doubling, if not tripling registration fees and discontinuing multi-child discounts.
So by now, you are asking yourself, what exactly do these people want? Simply put, we need your help to ensure this league continues to operate in our area with the limited funds that are available. There are several ways you can help:
· staffing the concession stand during your team’s scheduled time
· mowing the grass during the season and during the “off months”
· aiding coaches during games and practices
· financial donations
Therefore, we graciously seek your assistance in our continued mission of providing soccer to area youth.
